Our Holiday Club focuses on providing high quality, affordable and flexible holiday care for school-aged children. If your child does not yet attend school, but is 3+, please see our The Little Kids’ Club service. The club is operated from St Mary’s Youth & Community Centre, which has excellent facilities for the children to enjoy – for example; a large multi-use indoor sports hall, playing fields, tennis court, a public outdoor playground – as well as use of the fantastic multi-purpose area inside the building with it’s own central, open kitchen, under floor heating and direct access to the outside areas. The club also has a large variety of activities, toys and resources – including arts and crafts – where the emphasis is on self-directed play.
The children have the added benefit of meeting and forming friendships with children from other schools, and because we don’t separate children based on their age groups, both factors contribute greatly to boosting their social development opportunities. We encourage natural relationships to be formed; regardless of age, school, gender, culture, etc.
Currently during the holidays it is only The Kids’ Club who operates out of the centre during the day, giving us more access and freedom of movement.
Our school-aged Holiday Club is currently accommodating between 40 – 75 children.
The Kids’ Club is a registered provision and works closely with the Childcare and Early Years Service, CEYS, whose support and assistance has greatly contributed to the development of all of our clubs.
Our Holiday Club is open between the hours of 8.00am and 5.30pm.
There are three sessions currently available;
[Both of these sessions have the option to stay later if required].
We work hard to meet the needs of our families, so it is therefore not necessary to book a whole holiday or week, if you don’t need it. We can do separate days or part-weeks.
We do not request a booking deposit fee.
(Please note that during Holiday Club, there is an included added charge of £1.00 per child, per day, to help towards activities and resources).
As we are a registered provider you may be able to claim a tax allowance on fees paid. We will send out certificates from January on request, confirming amount paid in fees for the previous year.
We have now moved onto a new online booking system, MagicBooking – giving you control of your bookings, access to your account at any time, and having all of your children’s information in one place. We do not request a booking deposit fee.
We have a handy guide which we have created, with information on how to create your account, add your child/ren and how to book.
The link to the booking system and access to the guide can be found on the top of each page of our website under the ‘Bookings’ tab.
Please be aware we can only secure your child/ren’s place if the payment plan or payment of outstanding feeds is adhered to.
Please ensure that you have registered your details correctly. It is essential that we have the correct details for each child and it is your own responsibility to ensure they are kept up to date on the booking system.
Before a child starts at The Kids’ Club we recommend that he/she have at least one induction session. (There is no charge for any induction visit). Your child/ren can visit the club alongside one or both parents/carers to see the environment, meet the staff and allow the opportunity for any arising questions to be asked and answered. When your child/ren start at the club, members of the staff team will ensure that they are looked after and will help them settle in. We take each child/ren as the individual’s that they are – as such, it may be agreed between parents/carers and management that your child/ren would benefit from a secondary induction session, prior to beginning at the club. Inductions must be organised directly with the management team and you can do this by contacting us at: [email protected]
For our Holiday Club, there is a five day minimum booking notice on our online system. If, however, you require a space on short notice, please do contact us directly.
If you no longer require your place, it is your responsibility to cancel your booking, at least fourteen days prior to the start of your booking, otherwise you will still be charged for the place.
If you wish to arrange an induction, or have any questions about securing your child/ren’s place, please contact us on [email protected] or via phone at 07797 832771.

During the holidays the doors will be open from 8.00am to 9.00am and your child/ren will be signed in on arrival to The Kids’ Club daily, by club staff, in the form of our digital register. After this time, the inner front doors will be locked and access can then be requested by ringing the bell in the outer hallway.
The doors will then be open again from 3.00pm to 4.00pm, where a member of staff will welcome you on arrival and then request your child/ren to prepare for their collection. When collecting your child/ren, a member of staff will sign them out via our digital register. After this time period, the inner front doors will again be locked and access can then be requested by ringing the bell in the outer hallway.
If for some reason, an adult other than yourself or a person identified as a collector on your child/ren’s account, it is essential that you inform the club prior to collection. Please note that if you have not informed us of a change in arrangements, we have the right to not allow your child/ren to leave the premises.
Prior to the holidays starting, you will receive an itinerary sheet which will have all the details of the outings and activities on offer during the holiday period. These are mainly for guidance and may change on the day, due to bad weather, lack of response or other.
We do often have themes running through the holidays to give the children a boost in their imaginations and this also helps us Play Workers stay on track with a fluid timetable. We do have to plan certain things, like outings, as to ensure staff ratios, certain activities, etc but all else in the planner are ideas that all children are free to get involved in, or expand onto their own ideas. We Play Workers are an added resource, providing opportunities and enhancing experiences of play for all children.
If you do not wish for your child to go on outings, or be involved in any specific activities, for any particular reason – please ensure you inform a staff member so we can be made aware of this and any reasons behind the decision.
Please be advised that some outings may be weather dependant, or be interrupted by adverse weather or situations, so we cannot guarantee that all trips will go ahead. We will do our utmost to ensure we provide a variety of different opportunities for the children to engage in.
Snack is provided daily for the children by the club, included in our service, in the afternoon. We try to balance the food provided to ensure there are always healthy options, yet remain appealing to the child/ren. We do of course also provide the occasional treat! Children with specific dietary needs can be catered for.
During holiday club the children are required to bring un something for their morning snack, a drinks bottle and a packed lunch.
Water is provided all session by the club, as and when the children need or want it.
We also provide fresh fruit on a daily basis, throughout the session.
We are a ‘nut free zone’ due to a number of children having severe allergies to nuts, we appreciate your understanding and acceptance of this.
