We are delighted to be working with St Mary’s School and Silverstar Pre-School on the introduction of an after school service, under Playcare, for 3-4 year olds, opening September 2021!! Giving priority to children who have siblings with The Kids’ Club and for families of our community. Offering full time working parents the choice of sending their children to a states nursery and term time pre school as they will have the guarantee of all year round childcare support.
The after school service will have its own designated area within the centre for the children to separate their belongings from The Kids’ Club, have access to a quiet area and to the bathrooms. The children will have access to the public playground as well as a tennis court and playing fields. They will enjoy these amenities with the children from The Kids’ Club, as this is all shared space. Active learning is supported with age and stage appropriate equipment, expectations and skilled play workers/practitioners observing and being aware of development and ability.
Keeping the connection between the two clubs strong is something we believe in and stand for. To be able to grow and develop relationships with The Kids’ Club will ultimately make the transition to primary school and thereafter as seamless and beneficial as possible.
We offer a healthy snack for the children and have fruit available throughout the afternoon which is included in the cost.
We will be updating the website with more detail and the costs and session times are currently the same as that of The Kids’ Club.
2.45pm – 5.30pm £13.75 per session
2.45pm – 4.30pm £ 9.00 per session
Families with two or more children will be given a 5% discount if they attend for the full session.
We work hard to meet the needs of our families, it is therefore not necessary to book a whole week if you don’t need it. We can do it based on rotas and on an ad-hoc basis.
We do not request a booking deposit fee. For our After School Clubs we operate a system that will average fees over a term, a payment plan is devised giving you the opportunity to pay monthly in advance. If you only need us adhoc you are invoiced at the end of each month for the days you have had.
After a wonderful Summer Holidays we are very excited to open for the October Half Term! We still have some places available, if you’d like to get in touch!
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
It had been a desire of ours for a long time to bring what we do within The Kids’ Club and its values and culture to children of pre-school age. Playwork is our profession and we exist to support children’s right and need to play. The Little Kids’ Club is a holiday club under Playcare, for 3-4 year olds, giving priority to children who have siblings with The Kids’ Club and for families of our community. Our aim is to facilitate a wide range of play opportunities for the children where they have the freedom to choose what they would like to do; to provide an environment in which they feel emotionally and physically safe, valued and motivated. Play is a process, one that is flexible, inquisitive, creative and unique to each child. We envisage children potentially being with us from the age of 3, being with us through the transition from nursery to primary school and through the transition from primary to secondary school. It is vital these transitions are as smooth and seamless as possible, in order for the children to go through them with confidence and well prepared for their next step.
Both The Kid’s Club and The Little Kid’s Club are registered provisions and work closely with the Childcare and Early Years Service and the Jersey Child Care Trust, whose support and assistance has greatly contributed to the development of the Clubs.
As we are a registered provider you may be able to claim a tax allowance on fees paid. We will send out certificates from January confirming amount paid in fees for the previous year.
The Little Kid’s Club is also located in St Mary’s Youth and Community Centre. The Club enjoys its own designated area within the centre with its own enclosed outdoor play area allowing for free flow play, again where a variety of activities, toys and resources are provided where the emphasis is on self-directed play. It is open to all Island and operates during all states holidays.
The centre is accessible via a large car park. It is a secure building with the inner front doors being locked from 9.00am and access gained by ringing the bell in the outer hallway. The Little Kids’ Club is based on the ground floor and during the term time is an existing pre-school so has the advantages of already being designed for children of this age group, with appropriately sized toilets and washing facilities. The setting has under floor heating.
The entrance to The Little Kids’ Club is also locked from within the centre. The children also have access to a newly built public playground as well as a large multi-use indoor sports hall, tennis court, playing fields and a small copse of woods. The setting has direct access through it’s own front door to the public outside areas. The children enjoy these amenities on their own or with the children from The Kids’ Club as this is all shared space. Providing great opportunities for the children to play together.
During the holidays the opening hours will be between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm.
We currently offer two sessions:
8.30am – 1.30pm at £27.50 per session.
8.30am – 3.30pm at £38.50 per session.
There is also the option to stay until 5.30pm during the summer holidays if your child is due to start primary school in the September.
We are currently looking at our opening times, whether there is a demand for the option to offer a session till 5.30pm all year round.
There are several forms, which you must complete and return to the Club prior to your child/ren starting. Get in touch with us and we will forward them to you.
You can download our holiday planner for the year this gives you all the dates we are open over the school holidays.
Please ensure you let us know the dates you may require as soon as possible to guarantee a place. You can do this by sending back the holiday planner completed or by emailing steph@thekidsclub.je; you can also just give us a ring on 07797 832771 to discuss your requirements further and to answer any questions you may have.
If your child is coming during the holidays the fees are payable in advance, a payment plan is also devised where applicable giving you the opportunity to pay monthly in advance. We cannot confirm your booking is secure until payment is received by the given date. If you no longer require your place it is your responsibility to inform the Club two weeks prior to the start of the holiday otherwise you will be charged for that place.
Before a child starts at The Little Kids’ Club we recommend that he/she have an induction period. (There is no charge for the induction visits). The first visit will be with one or both parents/carers and the children, to come and meet us and view the Club, (although it will be still set up as a pre-school environment until the start of the said holiday) this will give everyone the opportunity to ask any questions. If we feel it will be of benefit to help with the settling in and time scales allow, other visits can be arranged during the holidays.
If you would like to arrange an induction please contact us on 07797 832771 or email steph@thekidsclub.je.
