The Kids Club After School: General Information

Facilities

The Kid’s Club is located in St Mary’s Youth and Community Centre which is accessible via a large car park with it’s own entrance in the heart of St Mary’s. It has excellent facilities for the children to enjoy such as a tennis court, playing fields, a public outdoor playground and a large multi-use indoor sports hall.

Our building is accessible for all. The Club enjoys its own large designated open plan area within the centre with a central open kitchen, under floor heating with direct access to the outside areas.

A variety of activities, toys and resources are provided including arts and crafts, where the emphasis is on self-directed play. We don’t separate children dependant on their year groups, we encourage natural relationships to be formed.  The benefits to the children of not being separated far outweigh the added pressure on us!

Our After School Club is currently accommodating between 40 – 75 children.

Neighbouring Parishes

We are very pleased to be able to offer our after school service to our neighbouring parishes. We offer a pick up service from St John’s School, St Peter’s School and Les Landes School. We have good strong working relations with our feeder schools and work closely with staff within the schools for smoother transitions for the children. The children have the added benefit of meeting and forming friendships with children from other schools.

Both The Kids’ Club and The Little Kids Club are registered provisions and work closely with the Childcare and Early Years Service, CEYS, whose support and assistance has greatly contributed to the development of the Clubs.

Hours of Opening and Fees

The After School Club is open between the hours of 3.00pm and 5.30pm.

(We are currently asking our families if it would be more beneficial to you if we extended our session time to 6.00pm.  Please get in touch and we can gauge the interest)

We currently offer two after-school sessions:

  • 3.00pm – 5.30pm        £14.50 per session
  • 3.00pm – 4.30pm        £ 9.50 per session

There is a 5% discount for families with 2 or more children, but this can only be claimed if staying for the full session.

(Please note: There is a charge of £1.00 per child, per day, if your child/ren are to be picked up from St John, St Peter and Les Landes Schools, capped at £10.00 per week for families with 3 or more children.)

We work hard to meet and understand the needs of our families. It is therefore not necessary to book a whole week if you don’t need it, we can take single days and also on an ad-hoc basis.

We do not request a booking deposit fee.  For our After School Club we operate a system that will average fees over a term, a payment plan is devised, giving you the opportunity to pay monthly in advance.  If ad-hoc you will receive an invoice at the end of each month.

As we are a registered provider you may be able to claim a tax allowance on fees paid. We will send out certificates from January on request confirming amount paid in fees for the previous year.

Securing your child/children’s place

There are several forms, which you must complete and return to the Club, prior to your child/ren starting. Get in touch with us and we can forward them to you.

You can do this either by ringing us on 07797 832771 or using the contact link below and we can discuss your requirements further and answer any questions you may have.

Before a child starts at The Kids’ Club we recommend that he/she have an induction period.  (There is no charge for the induction visits).  The first visit will be with one or both parents/carers to view the Club, this will give everyone the opportunity to ask any questions.

The second visit the child can be left for a couple of hours.  A member of the team will be designated to look after them and help him/her settle in.  This will enable them to become familiar with the new surroundings, make new friends and enjoy and participate in the activities.

If you would like to arrange an induction please contact us on 07797 832771 or via the link below
